Working team - Aritz Burges

 

Aritz Burges is currently doing his PhD thesis at the Department of Ecology and Natural Resources (SoilMicrobialEcologyGroup), NEIKER-Tecnalia, on theimpact of contamination and other sources of environmental stress on soil microbial communities, under the supervision of Dr. Lur Epelde and Dr. Carlos Garbisu.

He has got a Bachelor of Science in Biology (University of the Basque Country, 2005).
His main research area is the assessment of soil health and quality through the utilization of soil microbial properties. He has experience in plant disease diagnosis using molecular biology techniques (PCR, Real Time PCR (TaqMan®), Microsatellite Analysis, Sequencing, etc) for a wide range of pathogens. He also has extensive knowledge in water quality assessment and treatments for both urban and industrial waste water.
