Main objective

To develop a set of molecular techniques of soil microbial ecology that can be used for the assessment of soil health.

Specific objectives

(I) To develop a set of molecular techniques for the determination of the structural and functional diversity of the soil microbial communities.

(II) Application of these techniques to the problem of metal pollution in mining soils.
